Happy Saturday, all! I don't often post on Saturdays so this is fun! Today I am taking part in a blog hop for Simon Says Stamp's latest release, Encouraging Words. There are lots of fun new products that just came out, so be sure to check out the entire release at [ Ссылка ]
When I designed the new Marilyn stencil, I absolutely loved the leaf shapes within the design. I thought it would be fun to somehow isolate some of the leaves and create a paper pieced cluster.
First, I used the entire stencil and blended some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink onto the white cardstock. Then on separate pieces of white cardstock, I blended Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks onto just the large leaf shapes that I wanted to use. For the flower shapes, I blended more Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Fired Brick, and Wilted Violet. I blended all of the colors using a Ranger Mini Round Blending Tool and separate foams for each ink color.
I carefully cut the leaves and flower away from the stencil design using scissors. Then I used foam tape to mount the shapes to the blended background.
