Usually you can identify FLASH SPI by reading designation mark on the package, but it is not always possible to fully identify device. REVELPROG-IS has smart procudes for FLASH SPI 25 series devices (you need to know only memory capacity and voltage level) so it is enough for REVELPROG, but let suppose that you can not read anything. How to find out which chip is it? Read-ID tool will help you. You will still need to know memory voltage level - you can measure it in external circuit or try with safe (lowest) voltage. Device capacity (and sometimes exactly device symbol) can be read using READ ID function. In this video we will recognize LE25S 4Mbit (25S40) soldered on sata hard-drive board.
