Here’s some interesting Danish history featuring a part of the world famous longest pedestrian street (Strøget) that most people walk through every day without a second thought: AMAGERTORV (or, in English, Amager Square). This is a square in one of the oldest parts of Copenhagen; in fact, it’s been around for almost 1,000 years. You might recognise it by its famous "storkspringvandet" or Stork Fountain.

Which is the oldest building on Amagertorv? Did you know Copenhagen’s first ever pharmacy was founded here in the 1620s (and was in operation all the way up to 1971)?
