🎬 ON TODAY'S MANUAL: Few months ago I've released a video investigating how the Alesis Midiverb III could be used along with a Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal to get close to the original My Bloody Valentine guitar sound - or at least the idea of it, since many different pedals, amps and effect racks were used to record the guitar sounds for Loveless and all the other groundbreaking MBV records. Today let's take this investigation even further and do one of my favorite things (: which is to dive into the gear and sound of the MBV classic records, and today let's do it comparing a 1990's Midiverb III with a more modern reverb pedal, the Hardwire RV-7. Praised among shoegazers, the Digitech RV-7 has become a very rare pedal meanwhile, it packs great sounding Gated and Reverse reverbs developed using Lexicon algorithms. Lexicon was also a company that was available during the late 80's and 90's, producing its own line of effect racks, such as the MX300, released in 1987. There's no evidence that MBV used Lexicon racks for recording Loveless, but Kevin has been spotted using a Lexicon Jam Man delay & looper rack for live shows. So let's see how one of the most popular digital reverb pedals compare to a vintage Alesis rack unit in order to achieve that classic aggressive shoegaze sound we all know and love ❤️ hope you guys feel the same nostalgic dreaminess I do when using this classic combination of gated/reverse reverb sounds with distortion (:

🎸 So who are you? You weirdo hipster 🎸 I'm Victor Budin ([ Ссылка ]_ - Instagram), a musician from Brazil. The most notable of my music projects is my power trio band Supernova Andromeda ([ Ссылка ] - Instagram) - my shoegaze/indie/alt rock band where I explore shimmery and fuzzy sounds from the 90's to produce my own music. I have two other projects, Magna Carta cover band, witch covers rock from all ages in an alternative rock way; and Casus Belli, witch hangs around Stoner/Doom metal. If you'd like to check out one of the bands and follow them on social media, it'll help me out a lot! I'm a big fan of the underground scene from Brazil and the world, and I want to show a bit of this universe here to you - Besides, I love talking about these genres that are so important to me since I grew up listening to them: Indie, shoegaze and Alt rock. I love exploring all kinds of gear available to create alternative music. Thanks for watching! 👻
