After the years of development and trials, the indigenous MALE UAV Tapas gets its first order. As per the 22nd June report of ANI, the Indian Navy is going to order 4 Tapas UAVs for maritime surveillance. The drone will be manufactured by the consortium of HAL & BEL. The delivery of the UAV is expected to be fast tracked and 1st UAV will be ready within 24 months of signing the contract. Meanwhile the existing Tapas UAVs will continue to be used for trial purpose to further improve the capabilities.
