A rather mysterious audience recording of a cut song from the original production of Dear World. It was found by a friend on a cassette tape that contained a (separate) recording of a full performance of Dear World, plus some other songs from Dame Lansbury's movie career.
This song replaced "Through the Bottom of the Glass," Aurelia's first number, but was itself dropped before opening night. What is interesting is that while there are two audio recordings of the show, none include this song, which would either suggest a complete third recording exists or this was the sole portion from the fourth recording. The other three are: a) a Boston tryouts performance with M'el Dowd understudying, which does include this song, but it is not sung by Dame Lansbury b) a preview recording with a somewhat different song list c) a recording made after opening night, with the songs heard on the cast recording.
The accompanying photographs are in fact of "Through the Bottom of the Glass".
Any information regarding the provenance of this recording would be very appreciated.
