11 June 2023 Open Farm Day
Although today is "Open Farm Sunday", our family voted on visiting Dartmoor. So,
Ahoy! From the moors!!
Dartmoor never fails to deliver picturesque views, with its open moorland and scenery for miles.
It's an important reserve for very rare plants and animals. Today about 90% of the land on Dartmoor is used for farming. Farmers keep cows, sheep, ponies and more!.
Herd of ponies and cows roam freely on the moor. Some are hill ponies and others belong to different keepers. You should not approach them too closely.
The wilds of Dartmoor National Park, is famous for its ancient granite tors, deep wooded valleys, rushing rivers and also has a lot of history in the Wizarding World.
Some birds have now become so rare nationally that visitors come to Dartmoor to see them!
What animals can you see on Dartmoor?
