(11 Nov 2014) A final ceramic poppy was planted at the Tower of London on Tuesday to mark Armistice Day in the UK.
Thirteen-year-old cadet Harry Hayes planted the last poppy in the moat surrounding the tower.
The former head of the British army, Sir Richard Dannatt, then read an extract from Laurence Binyon's poem "For the Fallen" before a trumpeter sounded the "Last Post".
The installation, called "Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red", is made up of 888,246 ceramic poppies and marks the centenary of the start of the First World War.
Each poppy represents a British casualty of the war.
The work was created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper.
Elsewhere, Armistice Day - which marks the end of World War One - was commemorated at the Cenotaph in central London as Big Ben struck 11 o'clock.
