In this video, I review the Rode VideoMic Go 2, a compact shotgun mic that can be attached to your camera via the microphone jack. No external battery is required. It also doubles as a high-quality USB microphone for your phone, tablet or computer!

I use this microphone to record basic videos on my Sony A7C and also use it as a general voice microphone on my computer. If you're looking for an easy, affordable but quality option as a content creator/videographer/podcaster, then check out this video.
The VideoMic 2 comes with a metal base that attaches to your camera accessory slot, as well as a foam cover.
I found that when recording around windy areas, the foam cover is not enough to block out wind noise. Rode offers a windshield/dead cat for this microphone but you have to buy it separately.
Overall I'm impressed with the quality of sound coming from a budget-friendly and easy-to-use microphone.
