Voters in Gabon are choosing their president and lawmakers. The incumbent President Ali Bongo is eyeing a third term in office. The opposition has thrown its weight behind former Education Minister Albert Ondo Ossa, in efforts to prevent a split vote. The incumbent won the previous 2016 election by a few thousand votes, beating his rival at the time Jean Ping.
