Richarde Bereaux and the Lutionaires - May 18, 2021 - Anthony’s Cari-Jazz Artiste of the Day
Richarde Bereaux is a talented pannist, singer, songwriter and musical director from south Trinidad. Richard began playing the steelpan at the age of 5 with the Golden Hands Steel Orchestra and is a 3-time National Music Festival winner. Throughout the several years of participating in the competition, Richarde has amassed over 24 trophies included the award for ‘Most Outstanding Pannist’ in 2008.
Richard tells us that the band was called ‘The Lutionaires’ as a play on words for the REVO-Lutionairies. We can confirm that it’s a great ‘pun on words’ having traversed through several videos on their YouTube Channel where several of their live performances receive positive comments.
The band’s last known performance was at the Southern Academy Of The Performing Arts, (SAPA) in south Trinidad. The concert was titled, “New Life New Rules” and featured such luminaries as David Bereaux, Marge Blackman, and Freetown Collective.
