I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in Dec 2020. Recently I underwent a liver resection surgery to remove the final remaining tumor from my body. This video was recorded on Day 2 in the hospital, the day after surgery.
I am experiencing a significant amount of pain on my right abdomen, at the location of the largest incision. The nurses are helping me with a combination of pain meds that makes the pain more tolerable. While the meds do help, I am still limited in my movements and must move very slowly. Getting up from lying down, and lying down from standing up, are both painful maneuvers that must be done slowly and carefully./
Other than the abdominal pain, I seem to recovering well. I am walking regularly down the hallway. We are still waiting for some bathroom events to transpire 😯 before I can be released home. I am on a liquid diet, had some soup for dinner.
Although I initially was hoping to go home atter 2 days, it is clear that I need a bit more time in the hospital. I think that is the right move and I am fine with that now. But I confess, I might have to smuggle in some tacos! 🌮 😬
