An awkward Vladimir Putin joined schoolchildren in singing the national anthem in Moscow.
The Russian president and the crowd repeatedly chanted ‘Russia’ before breaking into song.
The youth convention was launched in 2008 under the name "Movement of the First".
The event prepared children and young people for a "a fully-fledged life in society", according to its website.
