Local elections are just two days away, and in Taipei, the campaigns of the KMT’s Sean Lien and DPP-backed Ko Wen-je released ads Thursday with very different appeals. They also mixed it up a night earlier at a political policy forum. In an ad placed in major newspapers Thursday, the KMT accused Ko Wen-je’s office of engineering a wiretapping case to smear the Lien campaign. It also criticized DPP legislators for blocking economic initiatives that will make Taiwan more vulnerable to a China-South Korea free trade agreement. In recent online ads, Ko has continued his appeal to young voters and urged parents to listen to their children before casting their vote. Ko and Lien also set out their positions at a policy forum Wednesday night and took shots at each other. Ko Wen-jeIndependent Mayoral CandidateAs long as you work hard, you’ll be successful.
