Director Alma Har'el shares her insights and experiences as a filmmaker. Her most recent and first ever narrative feature film Honey Boy, written by Shia LaBeouf, has received critical acclaim for its authentic and honest retelling of Shia's childhood.
Alma is also the founder of Free The Bid and Free The Work-- an initiative first started in advertising where ad agencies and brands pledge to have at least 1 female director compete during the bidding process of a campaign. Through this initiative, Alama and the pledgers have increased the amount of female filmmakers getting jobs on commercial productions. The initiative has since expanded to Free The Work to promote diverse representation in all creative fields within entertainment.
