Here’s a 1920s (or late 1910s) Puntolillo “The Bell” tenor banjo made by Lange in New York. It features a massive “donut” tonering, huge rim, fantastic “marquetry” inlay along the rim’s edges, heavy-duty hardware, and later (but nice) 4:1 geared pegs.
Plays great, sounds great, has an archtop tonering presence, and looks absurd and wonderful.
