Is mixing in mono a technique you should be using or is it a waste of time?
In this video, I discuss the pros and cons.
The technique involves listening to your stereo mix in mono while you edit and mix it. This way you can stay more focused on the basics of level, phase and balance without being distracted or mislead by the stereo image. It seems like a simple idea but there are quite a few layers to this method and a few big drawbacks/downsides which I wanted to discuss.
