A 10 year old patient with chronic peri apical abcess in relation to 11,IOPA radiograph revealed a wide open apex.First visit after cleaning and irrigation with diluted Na Hypo and 2% CHX,CaOH placed as ICM for two weeks. In second visit MTA (Cerkamed)placed as apical barrier in the apical 5mm zone. MTA was carried to the apical zone with MTA carrier and condensed with finger plungers followed by indirect ultrasonics. Its always better go thake a radiograph after placement of 1-2 initial increments of MTA to confirm the position of barrier.Wet cotton was placed inside the canal and acess cavity was temporized .After 48 Hrs, obturation was done with lateral condensation,Sealer -Resin sealer(Adseal,Meta biomed).Orifices sealed with Gic and core build up done with composite.Dedicating this case to Dr.Sanjeev Kunhappan sir (for sharing his simple techniques of MTA placement ,suggesting the use Dentsply finger plungers etc ) and Dr.Roheet Khatavkar(for providing the MTA carrier which is very useful in anterior teeth with wide canals).
