"A singer like Buika comes only once in a generation."
-- New York Post
Winner of Latin Grammys for Best Album and Best Production (Niña de Fuego, 2008) and Best Traditional Tropical Album (El Ultimo Trago, 2010), Buika returns to the Arsht Center on the heels of her latest album release, La Noche Más Larga (The Longest Night). Hailed as a star in contemporary flamenco, Buika is blessed with a remarkable voice; raw and smoky but with a tenderness that hits right at the heart. As described by The New York Times, "She has a husky, layered and imperious voice, something like Nina Simone's but more flexible and virtuosic."
Buika has been noted for breaking down the walls that surround flamenco by collaborating with musicians and singers across all genres, including Pat Metheny, Anoushka Shankar, Chick Corea, Niño Josele, Maritza, Bebo and Chucho Valdes, Charles Aznavour, Luz Casal, Seal, Armando Manzanero and Nelly Furtado.
Don't miss this one-night-only performance by the singer NPR named one of the 50 best vocalists of all time!
