A slapstick is a device used to create sound and comedy simultaneously. Making good on their title’s promise, Släpstick never miss a beat in their multi-skilled, multi-instrumental homage to classical greats, delivering a tour-de-force musical extravaganza of physical comedy.
The Dutch band of five have been bringing houses down all over Europe with their seemingly highbrow classical concert which rapidly glissandos into a series of comical mishaps. It's Chaplin meets Tchaikovsky, Buster versus Bernstein, and Groucho Marx does Mozart, all rolled up into one raucous Schërzo that deftly mocks the ‘pomp’ in Pomp and Circumstance.
