Ali Hamidi is joined by ex-England & premiership footballer Bobby Zamora. The good friends team up for a 48 hour session to fish for carp at an Essex syndicate lake that holds a number of carp to over 40 pounds. They arrive to scorchio temperatures over 30C and the hottest day of the year so far – but savage thunderstorms are forecast which they hope will turn the fish on big time. Mid session, after a couple of cracking carp are caught, Ali persuades Bobby to come out of retirement and to leave the lake for a few hours to play in his 7-a-side football team as they are short of a striker. It’s a top of the table clash & Bobby really does roll back the years in style putting in a mega performance. After the game, the boys head back to the lake for the final night in hope of catching one of the ‘A-Team’. This is one action packed 48 hour session full of banter and laughs – there’s even a cameo appearance from colourful carping legend Kevin Ellis – famed for catching a 76lb mirror from Cassien, France in the mid 1980’s.
