Is your RAM leaking onto the rear floor? Well, your exhauster (pressure) vents may be the culprit. This is the second time mine has had an interior leak. The first time it was the 3rd taillight, which I replaced just about a year ago. Now, the problem is a bit more involved, but luckily, still doable at home.
Give your local dealer a call and they should be able to hook you up with a new set. So do yourself a favor and replace these now on your 4th Gen and later 1500, 2500, or 3500 Ram truck.

If you don’t want to do this with your RAM, consider replacing these now!
We had a cloudburst a couple nights ago, and I mean the rain really blew chunks. Well, then the interior started smelling like damp socks and tacos, and then I discovered this area was really wet.
It’s not the third taillight again, but inspection is revealing that water is leaking through these things. These are called Exhauster Vents and the original parts really have exhausted themselves it seems, thus leaking all over the place.
These new ones are only about $20 a piece and have a much better seal.
Removing these vents just required rear seat removal if you haven’t done the seat fold-down mod (which I just took time to do), removal of the old vents, and then carefully wrestling these new vents back in. I found out later on the second one that just turning them 90° and pushing them through, then rotating them back right side up actually works much better.
And, conveniently enough, it just rained again so we can test our work!
Finish cleaning up the floor and dry it out completely. We’re just using a mixture of water and white vinegar in our formula here.
So do yourself a favor and just replace both of these before it becomes a hassle like this.
But, hey, this is one less thing we’ll have to worry about in the future!
