Charles Vinick, Executive Director of the Whale Sanctuary Project, takes us on a tour by drone of the sanctuary site in Nova Scotia.
As the drone lifts off the ground at the wharf, it follows the shoreline where the veterinary center and other buildings will be located. Then, at Rocky Point, it heads out over the ocean until, at an altitude of 300–400 feet, we have a full view of the 100 acres where the whales will be living.
Imagine what it will be like for these intelligent and emotionally sensitive being, who have spent their lives in small concrete tanks, to find themselves in this amazing ocean environment, where they can spend their day swimming, diving, chasing birds, and exploring the ocean floor with all its varied flora and fauna.
