Hopping from job to job as an English teacher overseas can get old and tiring quick. It's not just buying a new blender and a new coffee pot each time, it's the fact that you often eat money and pay out additional expenses to make the move that you might not have anticipated. It's very important to understand the bottom line and what the cost vs. reward ratio is when you swap one ESL teacher employer for another. I changed teaching jobs in the past when it was a screaming deal and very advantageous for me to do so. I usually advise against taking crappy "starter jobs" and later trying to make a lateral move within the country upon a arrival for the reasons discussed. Teachers of the English language are in demand all over the world, so don't think you have to start at the bottom and go from there because you don't.
