US and Venezuelan officials have held talks to look at the possibility of easing Washington's sanctions on the oil industry. The US is said to be looking for alternative countries to supply oil, as it wants to boycott Russia's energy industry over its invasion of Ukraine. It's also seeking to isolate Russia from its ally Venezuela as the conflict with Ukraine intensifies.
