The Best Food To Gain Weight With IBD (Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis)
In this video I discuss the number one food to gain weight if you're living with either Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis. The food is Raw, unpasteurised, unheated honey. Not only is it an antibacterial and antimicrobial, but honey contains large amounts of digestive enzymes, meaning that it is easily broken down and absorbed by the body. The raw honey I discuss in this video is 75 grams of sugar for every 1KG of honey, meaning that it will block your fat-burning hormones and allow you to gradually put on weight. Unfortunately supermarket honey contains one of the most pro-inflammatory ingredients (high-fructose corn syrup) and all of the beneficial enzymes are removed during the heating/pasteurisation process. Consuming raw honey around your meal times (perhaps as a hot drink) will cause your body to have small frequent insulin spikes throughout the day, preventing you from losing weight. I typically consume about 3 teaspoons of raw honey daily.
