The stunning Bronze Age sites of Nuraghe Albucciu and Moru Giant's Tomb are located near Arzachena in northeast Sardinia. They were built using cyclopean construction from around 1600 - 1400 BC and show remarkable sophistication in the way they have been built into the granite bedrock to create these temples. The shape is rectangular with a north-south orientation and east-facing façade. At the entrance, surmounted by an architrave and open on the large façade, you will see, on the left, a large elliptical room with tholos stone roof on the right. The main Nuraghe is a rare example of the gallery-type and sits within a landscape surrounded by more of these and several Giant's Tombs, including the Moru example that once had a carving of the Phoenician goddess Tanit. Includes exclusive aerial footage.
