Video taken in 2004 by the Ropos remotely operated vehicle at the edge of Brimstone Pit near the summit of the Mariana Arc NW Rota-1 volcano, showing an ash and sulfur-laden volcanic eruption from the crater. The crater is at a depth of 555 meters (1,820 feet). In the video, the yellow color of the billowing clouds is due to droplets of molten sulfur in the plume bursts at a temperature of over 100 ºC.
