HISTORY OF RAPE LAW: Part 1 of the "On the Nature of Rape" Discussion

In the recent setting, the debate on the nature of rape had been sparked once again. While there is a “self-evident” heaviness attached in the act of rape and the harmful effects it inflicted onto its victims, there are still dissimilarities theoretically and in practice. And while the argument “rape is rape” can be justified, this premise gives birth to more problems.

In this series, a philosophical analysis will be made in reference to the reading provided below, grounding from the history rape law.
