An Anganwadi Centre (AWC) is the first point of contact for maternal healthcare and early child development in India. Children less than 6 years of age, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women and women of reproductive age group (15-45 years) are beneficiaries of the Integrated Child Development Services scheme. At the grass root level, delivery of these various services is through the Anganwadi Centres.

Through the Utthaan Project HPPI is using a community-based approach for improving health and education among children, adolescents and women. Utthaan is being implemented by HPPI and supported by Apraava Energy.
