This video is about injecting liquid nitrogen through a keloid to cause its involution. Cryotherapy of keloids has been shown to reduce the size and decrease the symptoms associated with keloids. An 18 gauge needle attached to a CryAc or CryoPro via a luer lock is inserted into the keloid. The trigger of the CryAc is pulled to allow liquid nitrogen to flow through the keloid. The nitrogen freezes the surrounding keloid resulting in an ice ball within the keloid. This causes destruction of the collagen fibres making up the keloid. More than one treatment may be required to successfully reduce the size of the keloid.
