If your cranks are worn, you've got some shiny new ones, or you just need to replace your bottom bracket you will need to remove your cranks. We show you how to remove recent Shimano cranks and how to replace them.
Other makes and older models of cranks all have slightly different methods of removal and attachment, however the basic principles generally remain the same, and Daniel Lloyd's pro tips on greasing axles and tightening bolts one at a time remain very valid.
