In our difficult times, it seems there are many reasons to be disheartened. Many have fallen away from our Catholic faith; wars and rumors of wars are constantly on the news; failures in the leadership of the Church constantly wound us; the rise of the occult; children and friends in trouble; poor health; and many similar things come together to make a pretty heavy cross. The devil always hanging around to provide us a short cut solution from his catalog of "D Solutions" or "D Weapons"... things like drink, drugs, disobedience, discouragement, divorce, dissent, and so on. We see his activity is now on display even for all to see (cf. opening ceremony of Gotthard Tunnel). Yet, in God’s plan, this puffing up of the devil is a good sign that something big is just around the corner... A big deflation of the devil and defeat of his plans.
