Hi, I’m Scott Peterson, President of Peterson Electro-Musical Products maker of Peterson Strobe Tuners.

The Peterson company turns 75 years old in 2023. We’re very proud to reach this significant milestone.

My father, Richard Peterson, founded our company in 1948. He had a remarkable passion for inventing innovative products for the music industry and providing outstanding quality, service, and integrity to our customers. Through the years Peterson has grown to be highly regarded by musicians world-wide. The company remains entirely owned by my family, and we still operate within just a few miles of where it all started. In the earliest days, Dick Peterson's focus was on developing electronic church and home organs, and improving pipe organ building. Soon, he found a need for a very precise tuner for the organs he was building. The first-ever Peterson tuner was designed and built by Dick Peterson for his own use with tuning pipe organs. A few of his friends and colleagues began asking if he would build one for them as well. Dad recruited my grandfather to help assemble 5 or maybe 10 tuners at a time on our family’s kitchen table; my mother would type invoices and keep records. Each individual tuner carried my father’s signature on the front panel, representing his personal involvement with the product and his strong commitment to each customer. Today, our StroboStomp LE limited-edition tuner bears that same signature, and the Peterson Company’s commitment to excellence remains unchanged.
