JP’s hind legs became paralysed in November 2017 due to intervertebral disc disease. It is very important to start physical rehabilitation/therapy as soon as possible after the onset of paralysis/weakness or spinal surgery. We started to treat JP’s condition conservatively using physical rehabilitation, acupuncture and laser. The first 6 weeks following paralysis or hind leg weakness is the most crucial time to start neurological rehabilitation, as the spinal cord has the ability to regenerate.
8 weeks later, JP started to take some steps by himself. Check out the video of his progress. Thank you very much to Trevor Rebello for the use of his song, “For Me”.
Please visit our website for more information about intervertebral disc disease and the different therapies used to treat this condition.
