The culture, traditions and history surrounding masks, in both American Pro-Wrestling, and especially in Mexican Lucha Libre, is our focus. We'll touch on a few examples from more than 100 years ago, zoom in on the influence of El Santo, and talk about famous masked men from Japan, the United States, and the U.K. along the way. (And you know I'm going to sneak at least one Batman reference in here before it's all done.) To adequately explore the history and traditions of masks in pro wrestling, we'll also talk a little about the role of masks in Mesoamerican cultures, and give the influence of superheroes its due.
