update: The 2nd one I took apart was easy - just grab the white plastic bulb part and twist it out - takes a little strength but comes out clean. This exposes the LEDs, which can then be pried out with a small screwdriver. To release the bottom connector just hit it in with a hammer or something heavy - maybe just slamming on the table will work. Takes about 10 seconds to break it down. Will post video later.
Had fun with this - wanted to see what goes on inside one of these. I was expecting to see some switch mode power supply thing - I looked at other Youtube videos of other models and that's what I saw.
This bulb, however, had only 4 parts not counting the LEDS... A bridge, a filter capacitor, a three pin current limiter IC, and a current sense / adjust resistor.
MB10F 1/2 am bridge rectifier
BP5131D - constant current driver IC w/ over current / over temperature. This IC turns the LEDS on instantly ( well, perceivably instantly to my eyes ).
External resistor in this bulb is 10 ohms.
Wired direct to 110v AC.
I'd never opened one so excuse my clumsiness - you're seeing it as I discovered it. Skip to end of video to look inside.
This lamp can easily be modified for use in projects.
