1) make an account on heroku.com and make a new app
2) Install the Heroku toolbelt and run "heroku" to login
3) run "git init" in the mittens project folder
4) make a project.json file
5) make a ProcFile
6) add the MongoLab and Papertrail addons to the Heroku app you made
7) swap out the port and mongodb connection string with environment variables
8) do "git add ." then "git commit -m 'a cool message'" then "git push heroku master"
9) buy a domain name and log into your domain registrar to point a CNAME record to your heroku app
