So, you want to start riding a motorcycle? The first thing you’ll need to do if you live in the UK is complete your Compulsory Basic Training, or CBT as it’s commonly referred to.
It’s a mandatory requirement for nearly all new riders and, as the name suggests, will give riders the basic tools they need to safely get the experience that’s needed in order to ride a motorcycle on the road.
It might be that you’re after a cost-effective means of transport, with motorcycles being considerably cheaper than cars to buy, run and insure. Or, it could be that you’ve just turned 16 and want your first taste of independent travel. Maybe you just want to fulfil a desire to live a life on two-wheels, because as any rider will tell you, it’s the best way.
