The lead investigator in the Karen Read murder trial testified Monday and read text messages he wrote and sent about Read and the investigation. Among them, Lt. Michael Proctor called Read a “whackjob c—,” “babe” with “no a**,” and later admitted he hadn’t found any nudes while going through cell phone data. Read is currently on trial for the alleged murder of her then boyfriend, John O’Keefe.
