Distance from Zero are a post punk duo, originally from Manchester but now based in Cumbria UK. Featuring the combined talents of Donna-Marie Stevens and SJ Collier. Both influenced by the early punk rock, post-punk, electronic and goth scene.. Also drawing on influences from the European darkwave scene and the UK dub and tip hop 90's vibe.

Influences such as The Chameleons, the Sun and The Moon, Killing Joke,
Gary Numan, Blutengel, Massive Attack, Buzzcocks, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Massive Ego, Theatre of Hate, Spear of Destiny, The Mob, Magazine, Johnny Marr, Public Image Limited, Clan of Xymox, and Siouxsie and the Banshees to name a few.

The new single (as of July 15 2024) is about creativity, the frustration of unrecognised effort and ambition, both the personal ambitions of the individual and also the collective public ambition for our country. It's very easy to become overwhelmed by negativity and become your own worst enemies, hence; 'Save Me from Myself'. It happens!
