Rebel Serbs have shelled the so-called safe area of Tuzla - now the temporary shelter to tens of thousands of refugees from Srebrenica.
The shelling has left a man dead and wounded several others.
The attack comes as Bosnian government soldiers - beleaguered by what seems a losing battle - are threatening to take peacekeepers hostage if the United Nations doesn't begin airstrikes against the Serbs.
And as if to underscore their triumph in the former U-N safe-area of Srebrenica, the Serbs shelled downtown Tuzla, killing a man and badly wounding a woman Tuesday.
Seven others sustained lesser wounds.
The future of the U-N mission in Bosnia will be discussed at a meeting in London on Friday involving foreign and defence ministers from the United States, Britain, France, Germany and Russia.
