One of the perks of filming in the Finger Lakes? All the good food on our off time! While filming episodes of The Dining Traveler Cooking Series: On The Road, we had the chance to eat and drink around Finger Lakes Wine Country in New York.
From global-themed tacos to duck egg ice cream, there's a little bit for everyone in the region. What I appreciate about this region is the access to quality produce throughout the area. Try locally made cheese, Finger Lakes Wine, or even hot dogs topped with veggies produced in the area.
If you're looking for a place with great outdoor spaces, good food, and driving distance from NYC, Philly, and DC, the Finger Lakes is the place for you. I promise I'm not biased because I partly grew up in the region (my family lives in neighboring Rochester) but there's plenty to see and do. Every time I return with my family, we explore a new restaurant or vineyard!
