A young boy has been killed in a devastating fire which ripped through almost 100 homes in a Bangladesh slum. The body of the child was found amongst the wreckage of the shanty town in capital city Dhaka. The blaze started in a rickshaw garage, before spreading to the slums next door. Many residents have been left with nothing, having been forced to flee without grabbing any other belongings. One of them, Abdul Jalil, said he managed to escape with his grandson. "After having my breakfast I came out of my house and suddenly saw the flames from a nearby house, immediately I took my grandson and ran out of the house," he said. "I couldn't collect any of my belongings and as I am an old man and everybody was rushing so, I failed to get anything from my home." An investigation is now underway into what caused the blaze.
