I've been considering adding a supplemental air conditioner since last summer but even though many of the 110v mini splits can be installed fairly easily, I still didn't want to cut holes, possibly add or relocate outlets (or run extension cords), and in my home the room it would have to be installed in still wouldn't be optimal. The lure to this standalone solution was to not only provide cooling in the most used area of our home but to possibly make a huge dent in our utility bill during the summer. Along with that efficiency came the notion for the possibility of adding a solar generator and a small array of panels to run the ac without having to be grid tied, another costly expense. After unboxing and installing this unit I began testing the wattage output and so I've been pleasantly surprised with the low amount of energy consumed by the unit. While we aren't experiencing summer temperatures, I do believe I've seen enough evidence that the goal of getting this unit to run on 100% solar is a very real and likely possibility. Only time will tell, stay tuned, the solar setup should be delivered and running withing a couple of weeks. Thanks for watching and please subscribe for future videos.
