The 1990 Legenda album featured fresh modern interpretations of classics by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee & Saloma. Evergreens such as Tiru Macam Saya, Getaran Jiwa, Bunyi Gitar, and Manusia were given a "nafas baru" in just the right measured doses.

This tribute to the great legends captured the imagination of the nation. Little wonder that in the same year, she was awarded the Ahli Mangku Negara (A.M.N), a federal honour, by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong IX.

Afterwards, a nationwide tour was in the works and this time, she had songs from Legenda, her best-selling album to date to woo people with. Needless to say, the two-year tour was hugely successful. It culminated in a concert at Stadium Negara, Kuala Lumpur which drew a record-breaking crowd of more than 10,000 - so far the biggest by a solo artiste at that time.
