Cabbage Thoran is a healthy side dish made for #OnamSadhya. In this #CabbageThoran shredded cabbage is stir-fried along with grated coconut, green chilli and dried red chilli. You can now make this #SadhyaSpecial with Cookd’s simple recipe. Do try this recipe and share your feedback with us.
Cabbage Thoran Recipe:
Cabbage (shredded) - 1 ½ Cups
Grated Coconut - ½ Cup
Green Chilli (slit) - 3 nos
Salt - ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
Coconut Oil - 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - ½ tsp
Split Urad Dal - 2 tsp
Dried Red Chilli - 2 nos
Curry Leaves - 10 nos
Cooking Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, add the cabbage, coconut, green chilli, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well using your hands. Allow it to rest for 30 minutes.
2. In a pan, heat the coconut oil. Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add the urad dal. Add the dry red chillies and curry leaves.
3. Add the cabbage mixture to the pan. Stir well and cover with a lid. Cook for 3 minutes on medium heat.
