Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy day, cooler and a little less humid than Tuesday. Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid-upper 70s. Dew points could drop even more Wednesday into the upper 30s and low 40s, which should give the air a little more crisp feel. The lower humidity combined with a northeast breeze at 10 to 15 mph could make it feel a bit cool at times. Dew points will be in the mid to low 50s all week, meaning the humidity will be much more tolerable. Thursday will be cooler still, with a high in the mid 70s. There is no rain in the forecast Wednesday or Thursday. Memorial Day weekend, on the other hand, looks like it will be wet and cool.
There is a 20% chance for rain on Friday, mainly later in the day for our southern counties. "Saturday is still on track to be the wettest day of the weekend," said WRAL meteorologist Peta Sheerwood. "Heavy rain could onset flooding. Winds will be gusty. up to 40 mph."
Highs will also be cooler Saturday, in the 60s. Sunday and Monday both have a chance of storms, but we'll get a better idea of what to expect as we get closer to the weekend.
