This 5 minute grounding and calming pranayama is a great foundational breath for any yoga practice. This breathing technique is healing for the nervous system by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. It’s also wonderful for calming vata dosha by lowering vata, using the slow, steady breathing to and calm the mind and nervous system.
In this 5 Minute breathing exercise, Ally Boothroyd will guide you through some 3 part breathing which is also called full yogic breath. Ally teaches a 5 minute breathing technique to calm the nervous system. Dirgha Pranayama, the 3 part breath or full yogic breath has been scientifically proven to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and put you into calm, rest and digest state.
