My lightweight Lowa Zephyr boots have proven to be a superb choice in so many situations, but as the weather here in Wales becomes a little more wintery I wanted - needed - a hiking boot which can withstand hikes though cold and wet autumnal and early winter weather.

The Lowa Z8S is still a surprisingly lightweight hiking boot, but with a slightly higher leg giving superb ankle support and stability, and greater resistance to water. The sole of the Lowa Z8S boot provides a fantastic grip, giving confidence and reducing the likelihood of slips and falls in wet and damp conditions during autumn outdoor adventures.
